In mine the win shoots as good as any of my best handloads.  I use it all the time now.  I could load the same load cheaper if I could buy the bullets and new the formula win uses, but it's hardley worth it at the price of the win.

My ultra likes em also and that is what I use em for. Dad's got sheep and this attracts dogs, coy dogs, and mostly yotes. The win white box 45's do the job for dad. He can stand at the back door and cover his open field to keep the varmits at bay. I told him to open the window and stick the barrel out so they won't run when they see him in his Pj's.

I'm getting MOA or slightly better for the most part with them, same with the Ultramax 40gr Ballistic Tips at about $18/50. I found the Winchester loads at Sports Authority if you have a store in your area; they're going for under $10 here in Phoenix.

Yup, shot my best groups with em, .265" and .440" 3 shot groups at 100yds, can't ask for much better than that lest it's a smaller 5 shot group!

Hey...40 grain NBT sounds cool.  Where can you buy Ultramax ammo?  Natchez and Midway don't seem to carry too much.

I was so impressed with my sons .243 Win. Ultra rifle, that I bought one in .223 Rem.. I have been using the 45 gr Winchesters, on the reports of this forum, and find that they shoot 3 shot groups that I can cover with a dime on a regular basis.
Last week I killed my first "called in" coyote with this combo. The shot was in the range of about 60 yards. Bullet entered behind the shoulder with a "SMACK", the dog ran about 40 yards and died. On skining the coyote there was only one tiny hole in the pelt, with a good clean kill. I must confess that after shooting several dogs with the .243 while deer hunting and this one with the .223 I am amazed at how much these animals can take before going down.
After seeing the damage, and finding lead fragments between the skin and body, I wonder how these bullets will penetrate if I had made a shoulder shot.
I love this rifle, it shoots the 55 gr loading OK. I have been expermenting with the Blue Dot reduced loads and find them quite acurate and plesant to shoot. The rifle sounds more like a .410 shotgun than a rifle with these loads.
I did polish the chamber and cleaned the crap out of the bore then ran about 100 strokes thrugh it with a tight patch and tooth paste to polish the barrell. I also made a spacer for the barrell bolt to get a good free float.

   Good hunting! :-)

I have very good groups the 45 grain Winchesters. The 55 gr do alright but, the 45's shoot tighter groups. For hunting, I'd say there is not enough difference in the two rounds in my rifle to worry about which one to use.

I shoot them in my CZ 527 American. I've yet to be able to duplicate their performance with my handloads. Although I am trying to do it with 50 & 55gr Nosler BTs.

Sportsman's Warehouse carries them, and one of the smaller gun shops here in Phoenix. I've not run across them online; haven't looked that hard since they're available here. You may be able to special order them through one of your gun shops. They also have the NBT's in 50, 55, and 68gr; I thought I read that the 40, 50, and 55gr are listed as 3280fps. The 40gr shoot about 1/2" lower at 200yds than the Winchester 45JHP's. I'm guessing the 68's are too heavy for the 1:12 twist, but I'm going to try the 50's this weekend.

Good luck!
