I roll them fairly regularly with a standard .22 Hornet.  My load drives a 35 grain Vmax to 3000 fps, and it does the job.

coopershooter,

I don't own a .22 K-Hornet but both of my .22 Hornets(Ruger's No.1 and 77/22 VHZ) are my number one calling rifles.  Deadly on coyotes out to 175(+/-) yards.  Never seen the need or advantage of the K-Hornet myself as the .22 Hornet has never let me down and it's hide friendly.  Lawdog

Lawdog,

You have that right...  Hornets make very good calling rifles.

About the only advantages that a K-Hornet has over a Hornet, aside from a couple hundred meaningless feet-per-second, is the ability to headspace on the shoulder instead of the rim and minimization of case stretch.

Anyway, I really like the Hornet for predators in areas that are close to the general population.

In fact, two of my nicer bobcats were shot with a 35gr V-Max from my Ruger 77/22 Hornet...  from my living room window, across the back yard and onto the hillside in the National Forest directly behind my house.  One was at 110 yards and the other was at 68 yards.  On the first cat, the neighbor kids were playing basketball in their backyard and never even noticed the shot.  On the second, my girlfriend never noticed the shot from the kitchen.

A BIG THUMBS UP to the 22 Hornet...

My wife said, "What are you mad about now?"

"I'm not mad."

"Yes you are -- I heard you slam the door!"

(I guess the sound of the Hornet being fired from the front potch is a LITTLE louder than a pin drop.) :)
