Asked this question over in rifles and might as well see if anyone here has run into this. I have an Encore that has a sticky action such you have to smack the barrel to open it after firing a round. Doesn't matter if 209x50 barrel, 06 or 20 ga barrel. All do same thing. I have cleaned, degreased, torn down, used magnifyer etc. trying to find anything that may be causing action to stick. Anybody have clue? TC Tech support has been tough to get to this time of year. All the barrels work fine on my other Encore frame.

My first guess would be that when you pull the barrel release it`s not totally pulling the lug out of the barrel. Eather pull up on the barrel when you try yo open it or at least put on down presure on it untill after you have the releace totally pulled, this may help you get it open easier.

Appreciated the response. Still no go. I spoke to TC at great length and they may have identified the problem with the firing pin not retracting all the way. Can happen with extensive firing of 209x50 barrel. Residue backs into firing pin area and adds corrosion to mix as well. I plan on stripping down this area give it a try. Otherwise, TC didn't have any other thoughts other than the barrel lugs which seems odd on 3 different barrels. TC did spend about 30 minutes on phone with me a really tried to snake out different options so I can't complain about their service at all. This appeared to be a new twist to them as well. Particularly since it affected all barrels. Anyway, I'll post up if this works. BTW - TC said you should strip down the firing pin of a 209x50 end of each season for this very reason.
