Mailed Sportster Frame for 22WMR Bull bbl
« on: January 05, 2005, 12:14:51 PM »
Well, after much consideration, I sent my Sportster frame into NEF today to be fitted with a 22" Bull bbl in 22 WMR.  :-D

I decided to hold off on the 17M2 barrel for now. :?

When I bought the Sportster in 17 HMR, it was a toss up between that and the 22 WMR  :o  . The 17 HMR was the only Sportster that I could find in-stock locally (beside 22LRs) and I figured to get the other barrel at some point.

My 17 HMR shoots really well with Hornady & Remington 17gr BT ammo. I mean REALLY WELL!    I haven't tried the 20gr ammo yet.  I hope the 22 WMR does as well. It'll be fun weeding through the different brands and types of ammo to find the best round.

It'll be a good foul weather coyote/woodchuck gun.

As per my original post, I sent my Sportster frame into NEF Monday of last week for a 22WMR Bull bbl. Usually, as I live about 1.5 hours from NEF, I get an acknowledgement note in the mail from them within a week  that they received my receiver?

Still haven't heard back. Maybe they have a backlog from being closed over the holidays?

Probably being impatient. Anybody else see a delay?

Makes me glad that I insured the post

It drives me nuts anytime I have to order something and then wait several weeks to get it. When I want something I want to go get it right now. I guess thats being impatient but I can't help it. Hope you get it back soon. :D

I also hate to wait, so I've been appeasing myself by purchasing a few goodies to go along with the rifle when it arrives.

I bought an inexpensive BSA Reddot to try out. And, I'm still looking for a good deal on a regualr scope as well. I've been buying different ammo for it also. Gotta find what it likes and break it in. :-D

Center fires are more fun to wait for because I buy the reloading dies and components while I wait and I read about different loads to try.
