Not to belabor or argue a well written piece.
Certain areas of the military do seem to lack in warm bodies, the Navy comes to mind, well at least according to a friend who is a cook aboard an aircraft carrier.
I look at the works performed by KBR and other contractors in the field and see them performing jobs which the military would be better seved, at less cost, doing themself.
Used too, the screening you discuss, was done at the level of the draft station, eliminating some, not all I am sure, of the misfits which slip thru.
