non Alaska hunters - please know the regulations

Guys I hope that we can keep this civil without flaming anone here.  I have four midterm exams to give today and can't be jumping in.

First time I have ever had to jump in on a post on the Alaskan Forum.  The purpose of the forum is to assist others with their understanding of Alaska.  It just so happens that the diversity of the cultures here is huge.  You can only appreciate that difference by being here for a few years and visiting many places and villages.

Even then, a village or community will suprize you by being different, we have another oil spll or outside influences that don't understand the land and people try to affect us.

we're lucky, my guess is this guy couldn't even get across the border into Canada in an attemp to drive here. the Canadians are now very fussy with screening Americans heading through now days to Alaska... and air travel isn't an option for him either...like I said, stuck in chithole Michigan, where he belongs...

Yeah Dave, the reason I like GB forums is that they stay civil.  I checked out a competing place once and there was too much nasty stuff there.

For all posters,  I originally put this up to HELP and encourage visiting hunters, not to keep them away.  Like Dave said on one of his posts, the intent was to help visiting hunters avoid having their trip of a lifetime ruined by getting into a legal mess.  You know, forewarned is fore armed.

For those who don't like our rules, they are welcome to their opinion and welcome to go elsewhere.  I see no reason to snipe about where they choose to live or play.

One last thing and maybe this thread can die: Given all the rules, logistical, and financial obstacles, I encourage folks who want to hunt Alaska, to spend at least a year planning and researching their hunt - it will be well worth their time.  I've met a lot of REALLY fine visiting anglers and hunters in the field and the ones who've done their homework usually go home with a great Alaskan Experience.

glock29, I believe we've heard more than enough from you on this subject. Go play on the other threads. You clearly have a distain for laws and authority. One day that's likely to see you wearing a striped suit in the big house. But that's between you and the authorities where you live not us here at GBO. Move on and don't let us see anymore from you on this thread in the matter. For now I'm asking nicely. Next time I won't be if you force the issue.

Thank you for your post.  One of these days I'll get up to AK to do some handgun hunting and am always happy to learn what I can about the law of the land wherever I go.  I really appreciate your effort to educate us on this.

Wal Tim, I'd say that was one stubborn hard headed fellow. Either that or he likes the feel of the tazer more than I think I would. Some folks just don't know when to say yes sir do they.
