243 WSSM Load Data
« on: December 19, 2004, 02:17:51 AM »
My step-father wants me to load this cartridge for his rifle.  He has a Winchester rifle, I don't know the exact model number, but it has the 3-position safety and I believe it has a 26 inch barrel

Anyone have any good data on this cartridge, or know where I can get it on-line?  I want to use 100 grain Winchester Spire Points!
I am not going to "HOT-ROD" this cartridge, I'm just going to try and make it do what it's supposed to do!

Don't know really any places at the present to find reloading info for the 100 grainers, but here is the URL for info on some other bullets using Hodgdon powders: http://www.hodgdon.com/data/rifle/243winssmag.php  Please bear in mind with Hodgdon's data, their 100gr. loads are for the Speer 100gr. Boattail Soft Point, not the regular flatbase bullets.

I checked at Winchester's website and looked at their downloadable reloading manual for reloading info, but they don't have any as yet on the 243 WSSM.  They said to check back in mid-2003, but they seem to be so busy making ammo for these calibers, they must have forgotten to update the information.  Or they may just want people to buy their manuals, and don't want to publish that information at this time.  I don't know, but I hope that website helps you some. :D   Patriot
