What is the difference between the sst and interbond hornady bullets? Is one more stout than the other or have thicker copper? I want to try one in 7mm, which one would you guys recommend for deer at 7-08 velocities. I see that Hornady loads the 7-08 LM with 139 SST. I do not want a frangible ballistic tip. Do either of these hold up better that say the Nosler BT. Thanks, BuzzKill.

The interbond is a bonded bullet while the SST is not. Although both are designed as hunting bullets and not varmit bullets so you should have no problem with fragmentation. For the 7-08 I would stick with the SST but move to the Interbond for the 7 mag. I used the 162 SST bullet in my 7mag last year to down my elk, worked perfectly one shot was all that was needed. Personally I like the Hornady's better than the Nosler. But hey thats just my :money:

I love the Hornady SST bullet. I have great luck handloading these in several different rifles. I shot three decent sized whitetails this year with 150 grain SST(300 SAUM). All three dropped where they were standing. Terrible organ destruction, just like I want! :wink:

It seems the SST doesn't have a cannular...and the interbonds do...both the SD and the BC are the same on both of them...you can find them both here...I haven't used either one in 7mm...but have some really great things about both of them...

The sst is not bonded and the IB is, that's about the only difference i know of. i think Hornady is now calling the IB the 'interbond SST'.

BUT, for deer sized game the SST, at least in my .308, holds up, even on shoulder hits. Thus, it is a tough bullet for deer sized (and likely smaller) critters in this caliber at least.
