Can't see sights on Sidekick
« on: December 15, 2004, 04:19:22 AM »
I bought Bubba's sidekick. It shoots great and was in great shape. I have one minor problem. I wanted to set it up the same way as my huntsman with see thru scope mounts but I can't see the sights. The Williams sights are shorter than the fiber optic sights on the huntsman and I can't see them over the scope rail. Any Suggestions?

Richard glad to hear you are happy with the gun. I can thelp with the site problem cuz I took the sites right off it. I put them back on to ship it to you.

Richard,

Well, you could take the sights off and mail them to me, I would be more than happy to send you the POS plastic ones I took off my Huntsman! :-D

Millett Rings?

What brand of see through rings are you using? Millett? I can just barely see past my scope base (NEF base purchased directly from NEF) using the Millett see through rings. Purchased the rings at Dicks Sporting Goods store.

Bubba that would be above and beyond, Thanks.

They are leupold rings. I have weavers on the huntsman. The pin that goes into the weaver slot is the problem and that can't go any lower.

Thats OK Bubba. I guess this will give the reason to finally take a trip to the Williams store. It is only about 60 miles from me. They should have an answer.

Williams Site Factory...

They are great people at Williams.  They have a huge inventory of used guns for sale that is fun to poke through.  Here's just their page of rifles:
 http://www.williamsgunsight.com/808usedrifles.htm

Ask them if you can have a look at their back room, lounge?  It used to be incredible.  Elephant feet for end tables, on and on.   They have a very nice range out back also..    I needed service on a new Remington and they fixed it in 20 mins while I waited.  I wish I could've waited longer.  Great company!  Isn't the MaganaPort factory just down the road?  -  Joe

Magna port is only about 15 mins from me and I have been told I should go see it but have not done so yet.
