1) did T/C make the old hotshot barrels in bull or octagon barrel.
2)barrel. are the chambers longer then a normal barrel?
I am thinking about getting a 357 mag. hotshot barrel but only want a bull barrel profile

My .44 Mag is a bull barel configuration. And yes the chamber is longer than a normal .44. I can almost chamber a .445 in it. I don't think it affects the accuracy at all. My best group was at 50 yards with 225 grain Serria's - .310.

I load #6 shot in it but it is not very effective from my observations.

what i was thinking about doing is haveing it cut down to about 6 inches. and refinished not you got me thinking about a 6 inch 4 :-D
this should make a very quik pointing gun

The Hotshot barrels have an insert in the end of the barrel. It is not a choke per say, but a section of reverse rifling that shreads the shot capsule. It must be removed to shoot the barel with normal bullets. If you don't remove it the results are interesting. Usually after one 2 foot group I remember that it is in. :grin:

i was gona have it cut off jusst before the tube. but i may be better off just getting a cheep 357 mag barrel and having the work done
