Winchester Mold
« on: December 29, 2004, 02:06:37 AM »
Picked up a 44WCF mold at a gun show. It cast a good bullet if I keep feeding the hot lead to her for ever.If I stop pouring to soon the bases won't turn out nice and round. My lead mix is 1/2WW's and 1/2 pure lead.I use this mix in 45Colt,30WCF,45-70 with no trouble at all with Lyman Moulds.     Smokeless Jim

You need tin, a minimum of 2% up to 5%.  Wheel weights are primarily Lead and Antimony with little or no tin.  Add some 50/50 Lead tin solder, or some Linotype.
