New SB2-223
« on: December 21, 2004, 09:28:19 AM »
Just picked it up. I thought about a 7mm-08 but could not resist the 223
Box of 50 50g V-max for 18.99
Leupold rifleman 3-9x40 scope.
Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet.

Planning on getting 7mm-08 and 45-70 barrel after Jan 1.

Any suggestions or recommendations ?

You will love the .223. I have one also. I use it mostly for coyotes here in Wisconsin. It does the job.......very well.

Forgot to mention that the serial # is a NT.
And the 223 has the ejector not the extractor.
Durn thing will shoot a loaded round quite a ways

Richard
Don't forget to try the Winchester white box value pak from Wally world. $12 for 40rds and the Handi's seem to love it.

richardj, make sure you get the 45 grain HP's NOT the 55 grain FMJ's. The 45 grain hollow points are what everyone here seems to have great luck with!!!....<><....

Don't tell my wife but I'm in LOVE !!!!!
Took the 223 to the range today.
Forgot to take my sandbags
The rifle settled in at about 3" group at 100' by just resting my elbows on table with the white box 45gr.

Good god this is a nice weapon.
Need to get the trigger worked on, still pretty heavy.

Just to let everyone know just how crazy I am, the hi today was 10f with a wind chill of 0f.
It is hard to hold still when your teeth are chattering
