It sure wouldn't be my first choice as a weapon but with proper shot placement it would get the job done. If you are gonna carry a shotgun a twelve would be a far better choice as that is the minimum most guide services around here will require of you to use if you are gonna hunt with over their dogs. If it was me carrying it I'd make sure it was loaded with quality slug ammunition and I was close enough and could shoot accurately enough to place all shots in the boiler room..

Only the very newest in slug technology is gonna turn a 20 ga. into a hog gun. Winchester I think is using a Nosler/Combined Technology Partition bullet in theirs and it is THE slug to use these days. BUT ya gotta have a fully rifled barrel. Short that unless the hogs were you hunt run under 100 pounds you need to rethink using the 20 ga.
