I just bought my first Yugo SKS today, and have some questions. I raised the front grenade launcher site up to oil the surrounding area and could not get it to come down into the unused position, it was locked upright by a spring loaded plunger. I had to use 2 cleaning rod ends pushing on both sides of the plunger at the same time, while using my chin to push down to put it down. Is there a proper way to do this?
There is a 3 position gas selector button on the top, which position is the right one for shooting the gun?
The trigger guard appears to be milled, like the Russian ones, instead of stamped like the Chinese. Are these good triggers?
I have owned 2 SKS rifles before, a Chinese, and a Russian and the Yugo is a different animal.
Any answers to the above questions would be appreciated. Is there anything else I should watch out for on these unique guns?
Thanks.
