Broke the firing pin a few weeks ago was going to replace myself but found out can hold three things at once like I use to, fingers don't bend like they did. Call H&R they said send it in gave me an excuse to add a 30-06 barrel to it. I had wanted to use it latter for deer but guise something esle will do may even see if the 44 barrel will lock up on the 357 receiver. Don't guise I will be in a hurry for it to be returned, yeah right. :)

Noticed that H&R charged my card the 20th of Dec., they had received the receiver the 2nd of Dec. I am assuming the gun is on its way back that should be a good turn around. Be glade to get the 44 back together still got two more weekends to use it. :D

yeah, i heard that. we got almost 20" of snow here and they have yet to plow the roads and they issued a level 3 snow emergency and they want no one on the roads.

UPS delivers Monday thru Friday, tomorrow isn't a holiday for the working world, in fact for the delivery world, it's a real work day!!! After retiring with 32 years in the Postal Service, been there.... My wife still works there, has 5 more years before she can retire, hasn't got home this week before 8:30pm, and starts her work day at 9:30am.... Monday and Tuesday she got home at 10:00pm! :eek:

Sorry quickdtoo, the working world is taking tomorrow off, as Christmas is falling on the normal day off...Saturday. There are, I am sure some parts of the working world that will be slavin' away tomorrow, but they are the exception, not the rule, 'sides, you gov'ment types have always had a dif'runt set of hollyday rules :roll:  :grin:  I have worked my share of Chritmas Eve days, may even have too in future, but I ain't workin' tomorrow, and I personally don't know anyone who is, but I know it's hard to do that when one SHOULD be home with family.

So in your prayers, remember those who do have to work tomorrow, and the ones who will be tending gas stations and such on Saturday as well. Maybe someday the capitalists will become civilized and recognize that our families are more important than their dollars.

Nothing to be sorry about, UPS is delivering tomorrow and most of the world is gonna be at work, at least for part of the day....not a holiday for most.. Only a designated holiday for those that would normally be off on Saturday at the PO, doesn't mean they won't be working, just get paid holiday pay for work, the PO will be open normal hours and delivery will happen just like any other day.  :wink:

Yup...and all of the Hospitals is open for buisness as well...sickness unfortunatly doesn't take a holiday...but...for the 1st time  since 1978 I have taken a short winter vaction...4 days in a row...for Christmas...and added a 3rd day for New Years weekend...it's very strange being home this much :shock:

My wife is a happy camper, last weekend was her long weekend, she works rotating days as do 90% of postal employees, she had fri-sat-sun off, she gets sat-sun this weekend, then tuesday off, then sat-sun again next weekend....She'll be home bug...er....a... keeping me company lots with the holidays!

Must be nice getting the holidays and week ends off. I've not had a holiday or week end off since I retired 10 years ago. Same oh same oh routine day in and day out year round. Just no rest for the weary.  :-D

I am really in no big hurry if that UPs man can get home a little early to his family that is o.k. Didn't really expect it back so soon. Last year I was on standby in case of abreak down in some one/one's heating all Chrismas but my kids are grown so that was no big deal. Let the ones with little kids be at home this time of year. It is just me and the wife here but I have lots of good family times. I am a happy puppy. :D

quickdtoo, our local post office closes window service today at 2:30 but you can still pick up packages after that. Post office closed tomorrow. Of course we had no delivery yesterday and may not today because of the snowfall.  LOL I have 18" in my front yard. I cleared the walk and my driveway by shoveling all day yesterday, just to have the city snowplow come thru this morning :grin: . Now I have to go shovel their mess that is blocking my drive, lol.

To my suprise it showed up about a hr ago got my 44 barrel back on will clean the 30-06 and scope it at a latter date.
  gwhilikerz are you in the Calvert City area remember you saying something about Ky dam. Use to fish at the lower end. :-D  Noticed that Paduch finley got up to 17deg F. 8)

 Nope, I am about 40 miles east of Ky. Dam in Hopkins County. I have not been to KY Dam since they started building the new lock. I guess it has changed quite a bit. We used to fish just above the dam (had to walk along the sidewalk and highway over the dam, then climb over and walk down the rocks. Great for night fishing).   btw it is still 15 deg. here but the sun is shining :grin:
