Does anyone know how to use ordinary talcum powder to improve your groups with a BPCR rifle? Does it work? What is the science in support of the theory ----I.E. How does it work?

The only use for talcum powder that I know of is placing it on the front rest when bench shooting. The talc will allow the rifle to slide/recoil over the bag w/o or w/ less resistance.

I have heard where guys that are using poly wads putting some talcum powder in the storage bag with the wads. The idea being that it keeps them from building any static electric charge and keeps them from sticking together. Does it help you shoot smaller groups...Don't know. Just more Black Powder ... Black Magic ... but then sometimes that is what it takes. So I am told... :wink:

Mr Duck: How to improve your groups using talcum powder? I believe who ever has been taunting you with this question probally would be refereing to the use of talcum powder sprinkled on the barrel , vibrating the barrel, so as the talcum migrates to the sweet spot for barrel harmonics, and this is really the place many prefer to place the barrel on the sticks each time for more accurate shooting. There are some other methods to locate the sweet spot on your barrel. You might try searching the archives on this matter. In any case knowing and using the sweet spot on the barrel is generaly considered a good thing. Best Regards Steve Witt
