Dan Wesson Pointman Series?
« on: December 28, 2004, 04:49:59 AM »
Can anyone offer information or opinions on these 1911 firearms, such as value or desirability? How do they compare to the other 1911s available? Thank you...mt

Dan Wesson Pointman Series?

My father has a pointman major. I have shot it side by side with my Kimber Eclipse Pro 2, Colt Gold Cup and Springer at the range. IMO the pistol is very well made and comes with alot of options. The only problem with ours is the fact that it would not shoot anything other than "ball type" ammo reliably. When we called S&W, they said the gun had to be sent to them to be set up for hollow point type bullets, the gun was sent and it functions well now. As far as accuracy, it is as good as the other .45's we own or better. I don't happen to like the really big engraving that S&W put on the sides of the pistol but thats my tastes.
