A handy tool for a Handi

Got a 8" Craftsman laser level from Sears for a CHRISTmas present. This little tool is quite useful for setting up scopes to make sure the x-hairs are level.

Set the rifle and bases level, lay the level on top of the turret and superimpose the x-hair with the bottom of the level. Turret though could be level with the x-hair?

When setting up a Chrono you can hang the level to the side of the action
(it's magnetic) turn on the laser and set up your screen without going back and forth looking through the barrel. The dot would be 3/4" offset.

Drilling holes with a drill press either 90 deg or on a slope, and off course level the stove top elements for mum so the soup wont spill over the edge.

There are a whole lot of other uses for  BR and target shooters.

Been thinking about one, but haven't thought of scope leveling with it . Knew I need it for something.

Eh. Joel.
Are you feeling guilty sitting in your car, turning a key and presto the car starts. Instead of going out in the cold cranking the motor by hand, getting kicked by backfire, adjusting spark advance by guess, setting the throttle leaver were it most likely supply the right amount of fuel, and pulling the choke in and out for the right air mixture? Ain't live wonderful, and you don't have to think?

As you know thinking is a pain and must be avoided at all cost. Man in all of history has spent all his waking hours inventing thing that avoid thinking, more so now than ever before. Whether that is a blessing, is something you have to figure out for yourself. I never feel guilty using some of the think savers.

Not that the lazer level isn't handy, but I've been using a 6' string hung at the end of the hall with a 3oz sinker tied to the end, just line up the vertical X-hair with the string after the rifle is squared in the vise. I do use a tri-square level against the side of the rifle frame to make sure it is square. Some of us can still think....:wink:

I don't know Quick, that sure sounds like thinking to me, a piece of sting and a weight, could use a rock I suppose, don't get much less expensive than that, unless you recyle the string by getting it at the dump or using an old used piece of dental floss, I love it!!!....<><.... :grin:

Yah, but you got to work, move things around and think? Is that fun or what? Work is something else that should be avoided at all costs.
