Bushnell Phantom Magnum pistol scope for my Swede.
« on: January 08, 2005, 04:04:23 PM »
Went to the gun show today and picked up a Bushnell Phantom Magnum 2.5 for 24 bucks. The mount on it was a tube flat on the bottom with 3 holes and the top was made to accept the dovetail rail built into the bottom of the scope tube. This is the first Phantom I have ever seen kind of a weird setup but I drilled and tapped 3 holes on my scout base that matched to the bottom of the tube and it fit just fine. I only paid 24 bucks for it and it is in good shape. I would not like it on a pistol as the tube is 7/8ths and the FOV at 100 yards is only 10 Feet. But for a scout setup it should work just fine as you can look around the setup with a unobstructed field of View anyway. Yea I know same FOV with a pistol but the rifle is more steady. I was hoping to find a reasonable pistol scope for my Swede scout setup and this worked out just fine. Now I got to get some dies and components and reload up some ammo and try it out. Jim
Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.
