a friend of mine had one that was pre henry, I don't remember who made it, but it wasn't very reliable. It had constant ftf. I don't know if henry improved on it or not.

You mean the old Armilite Pack rifle? The one where everything comes apart and stows away in the butt stock? Not a bad idea but accuracy isn't anything you can brag about. Keep your shots to 25 or so yards and they are fine. My brother in-law carries one in his plane in Alaska(along with other items). Lawdog

I never had one or shot one though I toyed with getting one at times. I would tend to think if you could get the barrel each and every time in the same place it would help. I have really heard no bad things about the Henry ones compared to the past ones. They work for what they were intended I guess not a target rifle but something handy in case you need it. I guess what more could you ask of it? IF you wanted something more accurate you could always get a Rossi or NEF that takes down also. I really like Henry Products and there is a need I suppose for these kind of rifles as they keep coming back. Myself I prefer Henry Lever guns.

A friend had one of the Old Charter Arms AR7 Explorers.
His was "HEAVILY" modified with a Silencer and a selector switch.
He had several 25 round mags for it also. (Normal was 7 I think)
His functioned flawlessly and he kept it in his helicopter. Along with
500 rounds of the FMJ ammo that was created for the High Standard
military pistol. (Silenced .22 lr).

I've had a bunch of those things and still have a couple laying around the house. They are fun to play with. I can smack a squirrel out to about 50 yds with it. Seems to like standard velocity rounds for accuracy better than high speeds. Needs some gunsmithin' to smooth up the innards but overall a fun gun. Mikey.
