Bogmaster- I wish you could have been here!

went to set up this beaver spot today. THe dam in about 5 feet high o nth low side...water drops off NOW on deep side to well over my waders. In addition, maybe 10-15 feet of jumbled cornstalks over this water- spread out behind the length of the dam.

Creek was maybe 50 feet wide now.....sheer banks of 4-8 feet...then straight down deep water.  About 3 feet of shelf ice over that.

About 1/2 block from dam was feed pile. Same situation as above, sheer banks, deep water.

About a block above that, I was able to carve out two spots for castor mounds...only possible sets I could come up with.

Question- do you typically set that far up from "the action"?

steve, many times I have no clue where the dam or lodge is.I would have liked to see all that corn  lol.
If I had my druthers,I would set up closer to the dam.I would set 330s and castor mounds on the dam.
With open water though, they will travel up and down the creek so you should still be in good shape.
 you lucky dog.
