Does anyone load for this caliber?  I'm shooting a 22 inch barrel and I am going to work a load up.  Does anyone have a favorite bullet/powder combination for deer hunting?  Thanks in advance for the reply.

I have 2 250's a contender and a custom model 600 with a 20" barrel.  I shoot the same load in each and they both shoot sub moa.  I use Federal match primers, 38 grains of H380, and a 100 grain ballistic tip.  Shoots great, kills deer everytime.  This is an awesome round.  More people should  discover it.

Eskimo: What are the barrel lengths on your Contender .250?  What ballistics do you get?

My contender barrel is a 14" SSK.  It has been a few years since I chronographed this load, but I am thinking it shoots about 2650 fps.  I get 2950 out of the 20" 600 barrel.  In my guns, this is a very accurate load.

Thanks for the info.  I'm going to start with this load since it works well with two different rifles you have.  I ordered the components today.

I should say I am going to work up to this load using the same components.

This load is probably on the top end so it is a wise choice to work up to it. I worked this load up about 15 years ago and I have never had any reason to try anything different. It has always shot good and bullet performance from the Nosler Ballistic Tip is flawless.
