Quick question.. Was the 9.5 X 57 ever a military round?? If so what action was it on ? Thanks in advance. Marty

Don't think it was a military round, but the one I have is on a 98 mauser,crest is LOWE,it is a nice little hunting rig and I use 8x57 necked up,about on par as I remember with the 358 Winchester

Just the gun I am wanting... Maybe. Don't really need even that much poop but would prefer more capability than the 375 Win. and no rim... Thanks for the response... Marty

Not as far as I can find. I think it was designed for
double rifles and Drillings. It is a very well designed cartridge.
I am sure it was used in some of the African Bush wars,
(Along with everything else)
but I do not think it was ever a standard military cartridge.
