Try Rock River before they get too big for their britches and quality drops off to that of the bigger companies!

Best I've seen in a while!

Iv'e already had one bad experience with Rock River!
thier Quality seems good, but i,m not sure about the Customer Service
I like the Idea that the Olympic has Chrome Moly steel barrels compared
to Chrome plated Bores in the Bushmaster, The one I've been looking at is the Olympic A-5, But,,,,,, :?:

I have an Oly 9 mm upper on a Bushmaster lower. Never had any problems with the oly upper. Did have problems with the Bushmaster Varminter I just bought. Waitning to see how well customer service works at Bushmaster.

I've always heard that you should stick to your ABC's.

Armalite, Bushmaster, and Colt.

I personally don't owned a "Black Rifle" yet but when I do it'll probably be a Bushmaster.  Most Bushy owners I've talked with are pleased with their purchases.

Had my Bushmaster Varminter out to the range today.  Was sighting in with Federal XM-193 ammo.  Ave of three-three shot groups at 200 meters was 1.4 " with the best group under 1".
I haven't put 100 rounds through this gun yet , so it should get even better.
I'm very pleased.

Looked at both and bought the Oly.  Lifetime warranty, and a little cheaper (from my FFL dealer) than the Bushy.  Probably not a lot of real difference, but mine has gobbled up some nasty old ammo without any problem, and the accuracy is all I could ask for.  The chamber is unplated, yet still cleans up with very few patches, and I have yet to get more than a trace of copper fouling out of it, even after letting it soak for 24 hours.  Can't complain, and if I do find something wrong, there's that comforting little warranty thing.  I'm happy.

I have to agree with the pricing being high on the Bushmasters.  As a dealer, I've fondled them all, and shot quite a few of them also.  There is NOTHING wrong with the Olympic Arms these days and they are very accurate.  Olympic got a bad rap some years ago when they were selling CETMEs and such.  It really wasn't their fault either as they were reliant on 3rd party quality.  Nevertheless, they corrected that problem by doing more manufacturing on their own. A person will DEFINITELY get more value from them than from Bushmaster today.  You'll also get a LIFETIME warranty, but probably won't need to use it.  The cheapest Olympic barrels will go about 80,000 rounds.

Another thing I like about Olympic is that they've done a fine job grading their own products.  They have a wide product line with the AR-15s, and it's pretty simple to figure out.  The more you pay - the better it gets, but even their top of the line, premium rifles, are still not overpriced.

As a side note, the owner of Olympic, before he started selling rifles, was a master barrel maker in my home town of Colorado Springs. His barrels were, and still are, right up there with the best that money can buy.  This is a man who understands both quality and economy and has found a way to put the two together and create real value.  One just doesn't see much of this dynamic in firearms manufacturing anymore.  Right now, we've got an Olympic Arms PCR-3 that can't be touched by a Wilson UT-15 -- talk about paying a ton extra for a "name"?

Also, the guy at Olympic gives a 60 DAY SATISFACTION guarantee on all his rifles - which includes accuracy.  How can you possibly go wrong? You can't!

I've owned my Bushmaster for about a year now and I LOVE it.  They are a little pricey, but I help out the local gunsmith so he got it for cost for me.  Saved me about $500 over their suggested retail!  With my handloads, I get 1/2" groups at 100 yards.

I have to recommend the Bushmaster, besides, they're made only about an hour from my home.

Bushmaster: better quality control, better customer service, just plain better guns. For most practical purposes the chrome lining makes no difference.

Saw a guy with the bolt broken in 1/2 in his brand new Olympic at a CMP shoot this past summer. Oly took care of it, but never saw a Bushie do anything like that.

"Looked at both and bought the Oly. Lifetime warranty,"

Just buy your Bushmaster from Davidsons and you'll get the same warranty. Davidsons guarantees every firearm they sell for as long as you own it. If it fails they will repair or replace it free. Just like a Craftsman wrench. It's just silly to buy elsewhere.   Bill T.

Well, I've owned both, and to be honest, I like the Oly better. Tried to buy some parts from Bushmaster once for repairs, got the run around, ended up buying from someone else. Don't get me wrong, the Bushy is a great gun, but I've been around ARs and M-16s for a while, and the Oly is the best bang for the buck.
