I got to play with one at the SHOT show, but I'd imagine it'll be a while before they hit the dealer's shelves.

The accutrigger is nice, the one sample they had there had one of the scope bases drilled off center, but I'd imagine they'll fix that on the production rifles. The stock felt nice, well proportioned. It's not a lightweight rifle, but not too heavy either. I'd guess about 9 lbs. My only beef with it is the method of barrel attachment. Evidently they somehow shrink the receiver around the barrel, and it doesn't appear to be removable. Nobody I talked to really knew if it is or not, so it may not be the case. If it's not removable, I wouldn't touch one for any money. If it's not too big a deal to rebarrel I'd say it's a bargain if it does end up retailing for less than $375. It is a 1:16 twist, normal SAAMI hornet barrel so it's not going to work with anything more than 45 grain bullets. I sure wish they'd do a 1:12 like TC so you could shoot 55gr. bullets in it.

don't know about the barrel attachment-it's supposed to be an economy model so it could be cheaper production methods were employed.I understand the 223 version was pulled because of pressure issues.

I tried to buy one in .22 hornet just before CHRISTmas. My gun dealer tried ordering one, but Savage said they were having major mfg. problems, and didn't know if they would end up even manufacturing them at all.  :(
I hope they get it figured out, as the rifle looks like a great buy. I ended up buying a NEF in .22 hornet so I can still have some fun with it. :D
