Worn out Handi barrel?

Pretty impressive for a Handi if it's true, a post from another board in answer to a query about H&R rifles....

-I've taken Coyotes out to 500+yds with my 25-06 U.R.,300yds with my .223 U.R.
-I own six H&R's never ever had a problem with any of them!!!!!! The .223 U.R. has more then 10,000 rounds throw it. I will retire its barrel soon do to throut wear.
- I would alway put a nice scope on mine. You don't need a 5,000 dollar scope, just nice.

At 500yds, the 'yote is likely unaware of his presence and he has plenty of time for a rest, etc.  A standing target at 500yds doesn't sound too unrealistic with handloads and a high-power scope.
