Cuz somebody doesn't have a clue. If SS then 686. If 586 then NOT SS. It's that simple.

At one time, don't know if this is still the case, 586's could be purchased either in blue or nickel plated. Could it be that those "stainless" guns on gunbroker are actually nickel? Might be someone sees a silver colored gun in the photo and automatically assumes it's stainless.

BTW, I wanted to post my reply with a quote from the previous post, but couldn't quite figure out how to do it. I'm not very good at this computer stuff.

To do that you first copy the part you want to quote. Do this by placing cursor at one end, press left mouse button and hold. Sweep cursor to other end of text to be copied. It will be highlighted. Release mouse button. Now place cursor inside the high lighted area. Click right mouse button and select COPY.

Now go to where you want text pasted. Place cursor where you want the text to appear. Press right mouse button. Select PASTE this time. You will now have the chosen quote in place.

So now just highlight again as before. This time click on the QUOTE icon above the message block and it will take care of all the rest for you.

Glad that I was finally able to contribute something useful to someone else here. I visit this site for the most part daily and have learned a great deal of things from you all. IMO, this is the best hunting/shooting site on the web, BAR NONE.

Also, Graybeard, thanks for the tutorial. I just couldn't seem to figure it out. :D
