:D , Hello sureshot, I don't have a BC (yet!) but I have had several stocks on my 45-70 Handi. The best so far have been a regular wood standard (non Monte Carlo) with pistol grip and recoil pad and thanks to the generosity of Grandpa Mike, a great guy by the way, a survivor synthetic stock set for a great "walking around" gun in a great caliber!! a light, easy to carry and shoot 45-70 which is just the ticket for those long days of an old man walking through the thick woods. And about the recoil of a 45-70 in a light synthetic stock, you never even feel it for that one shot at a deer in the woods!!!....<><....
