Browning Gold Update...
« on: August 25, 2004, 05:48:14 PM »
Thought I would let you all know what happened with my jamming Browning Gold since I have made reference to it a few times here.  Sent it back to Browning and they change a bunch of parts in the gas system.  Put a totally different design gas piston on it and changed the mechanism that contains the bolt release button.  All they said on the repair form was performed routine repair.  All I paid was the shipping to them.

Will it now not jam?  Hope not, but I will never know.  Have it for sale since I bought my wife the Benneli and she likes it and it is working flawlessly.

A Benelli rep was letting us shoot one of the guns before she decided to buy it.  When she was loading it a shell came back out of the magazine onto the carrier.  She started to try and clear it and the rep said don't worry about because it would not jam.  I said "NO WAY".  Sure enough, it cycled fine.  Thought that was pretty neat.

benelli has modified there trigger assembly so this fourth shell between the chamber and magazine isn't possible to do anymore you can kick a shell out of the magazine and it will still fire but when you have a plug and try to ad that fourth shell the way the trigger assembly is designed now this is no longer an option kinda sucks cause that was the best feature on the whole gun!        ps...the browning fusion wont jam either if the shell is kicked out of the magazine tube with a shell already in the chamber           (just a foot note) :D
