looking for Ruger 77VT 223 loads
« on: January 03, 2005, 03:45:54 PM »
Howdy,
Just picked up a used, but in great shape .223 VT ( older blue/SS model)
Been loking for one for awile after I sold my old one in 22/250 ( should never have done that!)
Anyway, are there any other 223 VT shooters with loads that are working well. Even if you don't want to state your exact load it's fine just to get a bullet brand/wt and powder combo to start working up from.

Thanks for looking.

Marty

I Marty.   I have one of the new varmiters in 223.  I shoot 40 grn. v-max. I use 26 grn. benchmark  with it set .008 into the lands. That is what my rifle likes. They are leaving the barrel at about 3675 fps.  Load safe and have fun.

Thanks Dwayne,
Saved the info and will try it when I get some Benchmark. Will reduce  and gradually work up to it.
