HI i am looking to keep a light bullet because i will use my 25 06 mostly on coyotes But i am going to put in this yr for a Kansas deer tag and i want a bullet to work on both deer and coyotes i have Nosler 85gr BT they would be to lite for the deer need some help VM

I think it will work I seen a kid shoot a buck about 200yards with a 243 90 grain bearclaw bullet. This buck was about 250 in weight and it went down. :lol:

The 25-06 Remington is our standard cartridge for daily production testing.It is a terrific long range varmint cartridge when loaded with out 85grain ballistic Tip,and becomes an excellent choice for deer and antelope with any of our other .25 caliber bullets.
Both 4350 and RL 19 are great choices for the 25-06 Remington.

They do have a 100 grain Solid Base Ballistic Tip(blue tip) they rate for hunting.......and your not going to give up too much velocity with them either...I'm not sure of the 90 grain x bullets...looking at the Barnes #3 Maual...they rate it for antelope and deer...and it might not open up for coyote...unless that's what your looking for...

That's just what the books says...I haven't tried my 25-06 out on any song dogs yet...but I'm looking forward to trying...

I have been using the 85 gr. Ballistic Silvertip in both a .25-06 and .25-06 Ackley for 4 years on both deer and coyotes with spectacular results. I hunt in Western KY beanfields and the bullet works great at long range. The bullet will drop deer like they were struck by lightening, but is not pelt friendly on coyotes. I load at maximum velocity with groups around 3/4 inches. My son and I have shot 13 deer with this bullet, and only 1 went farther than 10 yards. Most just drop. I have wanted to load some 90 gr. Barnes, but can't imagine they would perform any better. Good luck!

I don't shoot the .25-06, but the 95g "X" has worked well for me, out of my .243 Win.

I'm getting 3 shot groups between .5" and .75", depending on how well I'm shooting, with Nosler 120 grain Partitions. They make an excellent deer load. I get a muzzle velocity (chronograph) of 3008 FPS.

HI and thanks when i got my gun for Chrismax i got some Nosler 85gr BT bullets and some Reloader 19 powder and i had some IMR 4350 too i thought the 85gr would be to light on a Kansas whitetail the size of them that is why i look at the barnes bullet i would shoot a BT anyday that way i wouldnt have to come up with 2 loads i could have one load for deer and coyotes it will be used for coyotes mostly i have a 300 wby i load a 125gr BT for deer in it VM
