Kimber or Sako 22
« on: January 08, 2005, 12:14:11 PM »
I've got a chance to get either a Kimber fluted barrel, high comb 22 or a Sako Sporter 22 for 22 hunter silhouette matches.
Which one would you recommend getting, both about the same price.
Don't know what they go for on the open market but this is going to be a deal from a friend and I just can't miss something like this.

So which one is best in you opinion?

thanks in advance, flint

I don't think you can go wrong either way.  Both are excellent rifles.  If you have the opportunity to handle them both, the one that feels the best to you is the way to go.  Although if it were me and I wanted the Kimber I would try to get an unfluted barrel.  Of the several gun shops that I frequent people seem to not have the accuracy out of the fluted barrels as the standard ones.  Of course I have never had one so I am only speaking from what the gun shops have told me.
