Best High Capacity Magazine for 10/22
« on: January 07, 2005, 08:36:23 AM »
Now that the Clinton-Brady thing is past, I've seen 10+ round magazines appearing at the store and I was wondering if anyone knows which ones work well.  I've heard that some of them don't feed very well so if anyone also knows which ones to avoid,I'd like to know that also.  I have no need for 50 rds when out hunting squirrels and rabbits but they'd be fun for plinking.

Don't understand, the 10 shot magazine in the 10/22 has always been legal.  As for after market higher capacity magazines stay away from Buttler Creek.  Not worth the money or the trouble.  I threw the ones I bought away.  Lawdog

I didn't say it very well,  I've been seeing magazines that hold 25, 30, 50 vs. the 10 rounders that I already have plenty of.  I hadn't ever seen a "high" capacity magazine for a 10/22 prior to the last few months.  Thanks for the info Lawdog, the Butler Creek's are the only ones that I've seen so far.  I'll avoid them.

I have 6 of the Ram-Line 30 rounders from pre ban days that have held up well all these years. Although some of them are getting cracks around the feed lips they still function fine. I also have a few that are Eason brand, but I haven't seen these for sale yet.
BTW, have you noticed in those years that the removal of the bayonet lug from rifles did stop all of those "drive by bayonetings"? :-D
