Accesories for sidekick?
« on: January 15, 2005, 08:30:35 AM »
Ok, ordered a sidekick.  I have a cap and ball revolver(old army) so know basics, but what other accessories you folks thing is a must with these guns.  I see a range rod would be good as stocker not great for seating.  Also thinking a smaller seating rod would be good.  Cleaning patches for spit swabbing between rounds and tip for connicals or teflon tip bullets.  I am going to keep stocker sights as they are good from what I hear and we cannot use anything but iron or 1X scopes in utah for muzzelloader seasons - thouh I might hunt other seasons with it if going with friends or draw a lim/once in a lifetime hunt.  What do you guys think about peep sights on these guns - any good place to mount.  I had a russian nagant that allowed me to rappidly adjust the rear sight for different ranges - any peeps allow that?  What I mean is you sight it at say 75, 100, 150 and mark it so you can move it to the appropriate range and do not have to guess what is 6" high on this animal...  Thanks

You may want to order several packages of primer carriers for that new muzzleloader and order a scope base. I use a Huntsman and live in Utah so I know what you mean about using a scope with 1X power. I have mounted a red dot BSA on mine. This combination was deadly last season on the mule deer hunt. I have antelope hunt planned for Wyoming and will top the Huntsman with 3X9 Bushnell.
