Winchester 101 take down
« on: February 17, 2003, 09:53:52 AM »
A really easy question for someone. I recently purchased one of the japanese built Winchester 101's.  Problem is I can't get the forearm off.  There does not seem to be any damage and the gun has been well maintained, so I believe there must be a trick to it. I can get the release lever to pop up, but nothing moves. Any help?

oldrifleman,

Assuming there is nothing wrong with it, pop up the release lever, grasp the barrels with your left hand, grab the forearm with your right hand, and pull away from your left hand firmly and briskly.  They usually fit pretty tight on my guns.

If this doesn't work, there's a problem.
