Lever gun front sight
« on: January 15, 2005, 05:47:25 AM »
The rules for a front sight state:
"Front sights must be a post or bead, may be hooded or if interchangeable may use post inserts only."

As a match progresses I often have a problem finding the top of the post.  Are any of the firesight type of posts legal?  They are posts but with a twist, so to speak.

I've tried painted a tip on my insert but sometimes that doesn't register either.

I'm using a very small aperture on a Williams FP.  If I go any smaller it will be too dark to see anything at all.

Thanks,
SteelEye

I've never been able to see very well, now moving into my 50's, this game shooting iron sights has been a challenge.
I use a Williams on the rear, a Lyman 17A on the front with the LEE SHAVER insert.  This gives me the best sight picture, when shooting white targets.  The black targets are REALLY hard for my eyes to see the sight and the target.  Good Luck.....
