That's the general impression I got too GB.  Seems to me not long ago he offered this gun up for sale at a fixed price then when he saw there was some interest he opened it up for bidding. After being pressured by several members of the forrum he agreed to sell the gun to the 1st person who had agreed to buy it at the original asking price. Then I guess he decided to sell or trade one of the barrels but not the whole gun. Now he's back fishing for offers again. I wounder if he is any relation to John Kerry. :-D   :D

Graybeard,  I have no complaints about GBO in general, I have  complaints about handis. You have complaints about Taurus, and Savage, and several others. Whats the difference? I did'nt offer to sell the .223 , I simply asked what was a fair price, because it's going to a gun-sale. If it comes home we'll be more than happy to deal with these guys.    All except for you , Brett. You need to get your facts straight .John Kerry? OUCH!  The fact is RH couldnt make up his mind the first time ( at my expense I might add)
Heck he's only 14, give the kid a break.

Sorry Broken Arrow...since he is 14 I thought his post met with your approval prior to His posting them...this is the NEF/HR Centerfire Rifles forum...and you have to know if your talking trades here...that most folks believe your speaking of trading for and with Handi's...for Handi's...

Good Luck on on what ever you wind up getting for it...

Mac

BA, for the record, I said you were "fishing for offers" I did not say that you offered to sell the .223. You did make it clear that you intended to sell the gun

Going to a gun-show this weekend and the Handis going with me. What's the average selling price...
and in a later post...

I think i will just try my luck at the gun show, unless anyone has a .17HMR or .22 mag they would like to trade.  :D
Also, i did not know your son's age. However at 14 he should know what it means to honor ones word. Unless of course you somehow neglected to teach him that principal. If a man's word is no good the man can not be trusted.

 Thanks Mac, I try to watch the boy but sometimes he slips one in on me. His plan is (subject to change at any moment, like his mom) to sell the gun for enough to buy a good scope for for his .243.  We'll see what happens.

Brett,  When I said you need to get your facts straight, I was talking about the sale of the Bbl to Jeffery8mm, you're way off on that one.[/quote]

Okay BA, here's your chance to set the record straight.  If any of the above is incorrect I will publicly apologize to you right here on this forum.

Folks: If I stepped on anyones toes by un locking this thread, I apologize.
Mac PMed me wondering if I had, i didn't so I opened it back up.

Now then folks let's settle down a little, BA and RH have a perfect right to sell their property any way they want.

Here's a little advice, always precede with caution anytime you are dealing with a 3 party deal, owner, middleman, and buyer.  Many times the middleman doesn't exactly know what the owner wants. I've seen deals where the middleman makes a sale only to find the owner has made a sale to someone else. In a three party deal don't be surprised by one hand not knowing what the other is doing.

Another point: when your saleing/trading remember to use these 2 words NO as in : No, id rather take it to the local gunshow and forego the problem of payment and shipping. Or the word YES as in: Yes, I understand perfectly, but if you don't have any luck, list it in the classifieds. You see yes and no are pretty clear even to me.  :)

If you honestly think some one is fishing great you don't have to bite!! it's your choice. On the other hand I don't blame anyone from trying to recoup the money they spent on a rifle that didn't please them.  Shoot if I could only break even 10% of the time.

Now everyone put the flame throwers away and let's talk rifles. :D <>< Richard "Duce"
What ever you'll put up with, is exactly what you'll get!!!!!
