OT.... A Mossy
« on: January 13, 2005, 04:48:53 AM »
Well, as some of ya know I've been putting together a new slug gun.  I know it's no Ultra    But, I've had quite a time getting it together.  First bad rings, then problems with a new Simmons scope.  Now I've got her together.  I wasn't real happy with the scope that I ended up with.  The scope is VERY nice glass.  But the paint on it leaves something to be desired.  My Mossy is Mossy Oak Break Up and the scope is supposed to be the same?????? Not even close.  I was hoping that they would match.  Had I known that they would be this far off I would have just gone with a Matte black scope.  WDO

Don't sweat it, she looks good to me. I bet the deer don't notice either. Look at it this way you, now have a double chance of your weapon matching the camo your wearing. Hope it shoots good for you.

You know that camo is not for the deer...They could care less.  The camo is for the consumer...I think it looks fine the way it is.  Don't change a thing.

What do you think of that scope ? I've heard some good stuff about it and am considering one.

I'd much rather be remembered for being a great shot than having the most expensive gun

Markus, It is a nice scope.  But, I was expecting a little more. Considering that I know that they normally sell for around $300.  These scopes are made in the USA by Burris for Pentax.  They are the same as the Pentax Lightseekers.  Another nice thing about them is that you get a free year membership in Whitetails unlimited!  I paid $135 for it and they had them in black also. Good glass.

Better hurry if you want one at that price.  WDO
