Bumping power on Redfield scope

My brother-in-law just gave me an older 16x Redfield with target turrets, fine crosshair. I know nothing about optics. How is the reputation of 20 year old Redfield Target scopes? I'll probably slap it on a rifle eventually and see how it looks and tracks but I was wondering what to expect. It looks like a nice piece of equipment.

I have won 3 pins for 5 in a row in smallbore silhouette. Chicken,Rams,& Turkey. All three were shot with the 12X Redfield on 3 different rifles: Chickens........Sako Finnfire
Pigs...............510 Remington (so old no serial #)
Turkeys..............10/22 Ruger box stock from 1970
Believe me those old Redfields track and have great optics                   Will take any you don't want  16X  and over
Thanks CB for the info will check it out
