".577 ToothShaker"
« on: January 13, 2005, 08:29:58 AM »
This falls under the "That would be cool" catagory
Take a 12 Ga. brass shell and neck it down to
.577.  Add appropriate charge of powder, Seat a Minne' Ball
in the case. And EUREKA! A do it yourself tooth extractor!

On a serious note, Does anyone have any knowledge
of such a Wildcat made with 12 ga brass shells?
I have seen some that were about .66 caliber but nothing
much smaller.

Just wanting to create something different for close range

Good God man,
Grab a 500 wisper and be done with it.

I say that tounge in cheek as I grab my pen and calculator to draw up more designs. What cal. are you looking at? The Ultra Mag series cut off just below the shoulder look promising for another .50 cal cartridge.

Isnt it the 50 A.E. that has the same head as the UltraMag?  Or is it the newer Smith&Wesson?
....make it count

I would like for it to be a black powder cartridge
and fire the same .577 Minne' bullets as my Enfield.
I have seen some in larger calibers but never fired one.
I am not sure what the laws would be concerning such
a creation. Would it be considered a destructive device?
Another Idea is with a brass .410 shell necked to .358.
it also being black powder and firing a 200 gr lead projectile.
