To much fun!
« on: January 20, 2005, 02:39:54 PM »
Hi All, I got my cast iron targets today and shot them. It was the first time I had actually shot a hard silhouette target. I did better than I have been doing on paper. I shot mostly chickens and pigs. I sighted in for 100 meters at the end of the day when the wind high died and just put up two rams. Got one on the first shot and second one on the third shot. I shot a 1" group at 100 meters with 98 cent Fed. and a 8 shot 1/2" group at 60 meters with same ammo. Last weekend I shot a sub 1/2" group @ 50 meters with some eley yellow box, but for now I'm going to shoot the cheap stuff. This is a great sport. I'm only been doing it a week now, and I'm sorry it took me this long to find out about it. Can't wait till I can go to a match.

I'm already addicted! I saw the episode of the NRA nationals on "American Shooter" and instantly knew I wanted to try it. I have a Savage/Anschutz that I am shooting. It is a tack driver! I did go all out and buy a Leupold 6.5-20x40 EFR. The gun is a relatives, so can shoot it for as long as I need to. I hope to talk him into selling me the gun. He never shoots it so my fingers are crossed he"ll sell. I have shot around 700 rounds this week already. I hate to toot my own horn, but for a guy who has never done any offhand shooting I am not to bad. I may be over confident but think I'll be shooting at least consistent AA soon.

Tony,

I replied to your PM, but from time to time I am a little computer "challenged".  If you didn't get it email me at jneihouse@earthlink.net and I'll be glad to answer your questions.

Tony,

Shoot me an e-mail if you are looking to shoot this weekend. I'm a member at BGC and I'm planning a trip to the range, have 80 animals, so there's plenty for all...
