Any Beeman P3 shooters?
« on: January 17, 2005, 06:45:59 AM »
I have owned my R7 for nearly a year now and I  shoot it more often than my conventional firearms! In fact just shot it last night at the indoor 50 ft range.

I decided an air pistol was in order and yesterday took a risk on a Marksman 2004 which is a Chinese made "copy" of a Beeman P3. Did not take long for the gun to fail to fire when the trigger was pulled. Soon this was occurring with regularity. After less than 50 pellets fired I had enough! I guess the old phrase - "You get what you pay for" really applies here. Even though the pistol was $38 I still expected it to fire when cocked and loaded.

So , now I will return the Chinese gun and look to buy the German made "Real Deal" - even though I will shell out another $100. Just wanted to hear from some P3 owners as to how you like your pistols.

It would be great to outshoot the 22/38/45 shooters using a .177 caliber air pistol! A few of the shooters chuckled when they first saw my old Weirauch or Beeman R7 - that is ,until they see the targets!

Don't give up on the Wally-world clone. Look for one of the newest ones in the bi-lingual blister packing. Mine is working fine, though you have to watch the breech seal.

On the package my pistol came in there is printed - "DELUXE AIR PISTOL" - printed right under it is "PISTOLET A AIR COMPRIME DE LUXE" - so I assume this is indeed the bi-lingual package?

I got one of the lemons and will not chance it again - it is going to be returned today and I'll order a German made pistol.

My P-3 has a Bushnell trophy 2X scope and makes it a breeze to cock while the pistol is probably the most popular at my house and one of the most accurate.  It will shoot one hole at 20 yds.   I have CO2 pistols, 6G, 5G, FWB65 and this is the one the kids find the most fastinating.  I think you will find the same....

Bad Bob - Thanks for the review. That is some good shooting with that P3! I am going to order one soon - just trying to decide where to buy it from. Was going to order from Midsouth ($138) but they are out of stock. Pomona had them listed at $145 shipping included.
