How much does your Encore weigh?
« on: January 29, 2005, 02:29:40 PM »
I have a 50 cal muzzleloader with synthetic stock and 3.5-10 Simmons WTC.  It weighs 8.7 pounds.  I want to order a 26" rifle barrel but am concerned it may make the rifle too heavy.  If you have a synthetic stocked Encore with the 26" heavy barrel please post a reply with what it weighs.  Also list the caliber and any optics.  This will help me make the right decision.  Thanks for your help.

I have a few 26" heavy barrels (22-250, 25/06 & 300 Win Mag) that I use with synthetic stock on Encore frames.  I haven't taken the time to weigh them out, but they don't seem too heavy  by any means, just right.  Compare favorably to 22" bolt action sporters I also have.

They really hold and point well.  Have scopes that range from 4x12 through 3x9 on them and they balance just perfectly for me.  I like them a little muzzle heavy and that seems to help when shooting offhand.l

My 12 gauge Encore with 24" factory barrel and Virgin Valley Kevlar stock weighs in at 5 pounds 14 ounces.  I call it "thumper" for obvious reasons.

I just checked mine!

Wooden stock & forearm, 26 inch 204 Ruger barrel and 6-24X42 Tasco scope!

Weighed 8 pounds!

Actually, it doesn't feel that heavy, but I guess it is, I checked it 3 times!

I love it!
