Starr revolver??
« on: February 02, 2005, 05:49:03 PM »
Got a steal on one at Cabelas tonight, and was wondering if any one else had one, had any problems, what loads, etc. Mine is a 44 Pietta single action. Very good action. Got it in the bargain cave for about 150 bucks unfired, but locked up. Works fine now. (No lube anywhere in it tends to do that).
Any source for fancier grips?? Thanks. DM

Well, took it out tonight, and ran it through about 20 rounds or better. Used 30 gr. of APP, and bore butter on the first six rounds. Forgot my lube, so they were dry the rest of the shooting. Hasnt even thought of siezing up. Sight needs moved left and down a little. Recoil is barely noticable, even with 35-40 gr. I filled the cylinder to the rim with one shot, rammed the ball, and it still shot like a 30 gr. Remmy. I like it a lot. DM
