Wienne Trigger Job! Not SOoooo Bad!

Followed MOST, not all, of Raynor's instructions on a trigger job for my .45-70. Removed the trigger housing group and polished the pins and lubed w/ new high performance grease and honed the trigger contact.

Wienned out on the hammer! Looked at ALL the stuff that would be coming out and Could Not Do It! Even found out how the spring goes back and got it all put back together. By the way, 3/8" wooden dowel works for slave pins.

Shouldn't have wimped out man, only thing left to come out would be the hammer and hammer spring.

Was there an improvement honing just the trigger?

Good thing is, if you decide to finish the job. Those pins won't be bad to get out the next time.

Quick: Got 'em, see the original not grouping post.

Ray: It was not bad before, without gauge it is hard to say but feels better. What does it take to get the hammer out, the one or both pins. There seems to be a kind of linkage that senes the barrel closed or not. It was not too bad, have finally learned NOT to use force; NOT to get in a hurry. Notice, I did this after the hunt, not before. Could see myself Friday night paniced and looking for lost spring or not being able to put it together. Thanks for your help. If the hammer is easy to get with just one pin and the other stuff does not come out, let me know!
