doesn't this barrel use the same forend as the 14 inch barrels?

yes, my 14" 223 and 16" :D  45-70 use the same.........

I have a super 16 in 35 rem and it is different then my 14" barrel forend.  I had to get either the carbine forend or a super 16 forend...

I thought only the 45-70 16 incher uses the 14 inch forend for some reason.

My 16" 45-70 uses the S-16 or carbine forend.  Mine is one of the older ones.  :-)  Walt
