The other day my dad decided to get into black powder shooting, as my younger brother had recently purchased a 209 Optima Pro. He got a Traditions e-Bolt 209, 45 cal. for $89.00, and brought it over.
I went to this site and read how the E-Bolts have a tendency to go off when closing the action, so I looked at it closely, and made the following observations:
1. The firing pin sticks out a little way from the actual bolt face.
2. The bolt itself, will go forward if closing the action and the trigger is depressed at any point during the closing of the action. With the firing pin sticking out of the bolt face, this could lead to a discharge.
3. The safety is in the way of the bolt handle, so closing the action can very well take the safety off.
These are observations made of his gun and his gun only, I didn't look at your gun, I don't know crap about your gun. If you have different observations, so be it.
In my opinion, this is not a safe design and I wouldn't buy it. But I understand that I do make mistakes and do forget things occassionally. You may be superhuman.
