Shot my 223 handi today, Not too bad .80 group 5 shots at 100 yds, Not nearly as good as my savage. Anyone have some pet loads for 223 handi. I,m shooting 27.2 gr W-748 with 50 gr Nosler Ballistic tips. best load I found so far. If I don't get any better soon, it going down the road.

Yes, my first Handi will shoot 1/2 groups, I just got a new Handi off gunbrokers friday From UPS. This one does not shoot nearly as well. Trigger might be some problem, about 7 pounds, just a quess though, really heavy. Thought I would try a different load!! not all guns like the same load.  Probably going to sell anyway, Got a itch for a 19 calhoon anyway.

I shoot the Winchester .45gr  They do the best in my rifle so far. I haven't reloaded any for this rifle but, as good as these group and as cheap as they are I'm not in a hurry to reload yet.

On my 223 UV Handi the white box 45 JHP shoots real good.  Usually under 1" at 100 yds.  I finally found a handload that equals it.  It is WW brass, CCI400 primers, W748 at 27.0 grains and a Sierra MK 52 grain bullet.  Funny part is if you drop down 0.2 grains it opens up to about 2.0 inches, go over by 0.2 grains and it open up to about 1.6 inches.  Twice now this load has shot about 1/2" 5 shot groups.  Course that is my rifle, barrel, bedding, etc.  So don't just give up, it has take about 250 rounds of handloads to find this load that it likes.  You may just be 0.2 grain of powder off.
