I just recently bought a .223 handi rifle with laminate stock and put leopold rings and a bushnell banner 3-9x scope for now on it until i can buy a new one, i shot it with wolf ammo...it shot okay...at 50 yards it averaged about 2 inches, how can i improve accuracy?...i cleaned it with foaming bore cleaner and hoppes elite...will it get better as i go?

Welcome to the Handiholics Society!

Wolf ammo - YUCK!  Try some of the 45gr. Winchester bulk pack avalible at most Wal-Marts.  Most folks are having great success with it.

Might try swabbing the bore with some FLITZ and a tight parch several times to nock of some of the rough spots.  I have about 1500 rounds through mine - Yes, it will get better with more rounds thru it.

You can also do a search here for the "o-ring" trick.  That shows some improvement in some NEF's.  Also, if you are shooting from a bench, you are supporting it under the reciever rather than on the forarm.

others will chime in in short order I'm sure.

Now, repeat after me .... "My name is MIdeerhunter and I'm a Handiholic."  Admitting you have a prolem is the first step to recovery.  Then again, we don't know of anyone who has recovered ... it's a permanent illness .... terminal illness for the checkbook!

Its the Wolf ammo. That ammo is designed for high rate shooting, not paper punching for accuracy. Get some good quality ammo such as Winchester 45g JHP, Ultramax, or BlackHills

I agree, that Wolf ammo has got to go!!! I would not be surprised if you cut your groups to less than half what you have now with the Winchester 45 grain HP White Box value pak ammo, about $13.00 for 40 rounds at Wal Mart....<><....

JB Bore Compound, Flitz, Maas or Simichrome all will work...JB from a gun shop or Brownell's, all the metal polishes can be found at a hardware or variety store.
