Thats pretty much the way I do it but I hang mine in the basement . I did find it took alot longer in the colder temps . In the basement , I can take mine off the stretcher in about 3 days but I have enough stretcher I dont worry about it till I need the stretchers .
If an animal activist is being mauled by a bear should we stop it , or , " let nature take its course?"

Thats about it- I too have enough stretchers so that I just hang them on a pipe, in order, and when I need some more stretchers I just take them down from the end in doz batches.

A fan is best way, the colder it is, the longer it takes.  Below 32 in an unheated shed, they sort of freeze dry, but that is not a problem.

If you are in a hurry, a warm room and a fan can shorten time to a day or a little longer- but do not apply heat directly to the pelt or they acan curl and "cook". When they are stiff, they are done. If you take them off off the stretcher and they are "soft"- put back on for aonther day or two....trappnmanb
